Mattias Eklundh SA Clinic Tour Details!

 Mattias at Mercury Live

Mattias Eklundh in action at Mercury Live, Cape Town

During his five days in South Africa, Mattias presented three public guitar clinics as well as three smaller sessions at educational institutions around the country.

From Cool Runnings in Fourways, Gauteng, to Zack’s on the Warf in Durban, to Mercury Live in Cape Town; Mattias packed in the crowds, filling each venue with enthusiastic guitarists eager to finally see the man himself live on stage.
Mattias also presented private sessions at the C.O.P.A. campuses in Johannesburg and Cape Town, and at the College of Music at the University of Cape Town.

Presenting his clinics using Laney amplifiers, Mattias achieved a guitar tone that had everyone wanting to know what effects units he was using. The answer: none! Mattias achieved his remarkable sound using only the Laney GH-100 head and a Wah pedal for added control.
All in all, Mattias reached around 700 people during his tour, no doubt radically changing their perceptions of what Laney amplifiers are all about, as well as turning many a preconceived notion about guitar playing on its head!

Mattias “IA” Eklundh (born 1969 in Gothenburg, Sweden) is a guitarist and vocalist, known for his work with the bands Freak Kitchen, Frozen Eyes, Fate, The Jonas Hellborg Trio, and Art Metal; he has also released several noted solo albums.
